No! Montana allows direct access to physical therapy, meaning you can schedule an appointment without waiting for a doctor's referral.
-
Cash-based physical therapy means you pay directly for your care rather than billing through insurance. We do offer a superbill.
-
A superbill is a detailed receipt of your physical therapy services that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. It includes the information your insurance provider may need to process a claim.
Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual insurance plan. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network benefits before your visit.
-
To determine your out-of-network benefits, contact your insurance provider using the number on the back of your insurance card. Ask whether your plan covers out-of-network physical therapy services, what your deductible is, and what percentage may be reimbursed.
You can also ask if your plan accepts superbills for reimbursement and whether any additional documentation is required.
Coverage varies by insurance plan, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
-
Yes! Physical therapy services are generally eligible expenses for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), even at a cash-based practice. You can typically use these funds to pay for qualifying treatments. We recommend checking with your plan administrator to confirm eligibility and any documentation requirements.
